Your Prayers — Sept. 13

It has been my happy custom to carry the prayers and hopes of the parishioners when I’ve gone on pilgrimage. Whenever I pass, a shrine, or a church, I stop, takeoff my pack, and work my way through a few of the prayers you’ve given me. It would please me to be able to do that again. So please post a note below, and leave me the prayers you’d like me to carry with me.

On September 18th, Fr. Jim and I will get together to pull together some of our last plans. We will bless each other’s backpacks and stamp our pilgrim passports with the stamp you see here on the left.

Pilgrimage always starts at home. Whenever parishioners tell me that they’re going to walk to Santiago, I invite them to bring their backpacks, their walking sticks, and their pilgrim passports. and I bless them, and stamp their pilgrim passports on the altar.

Perhaps you were thinking about doing a pilgrimage to Santiago, or Rome? I hope you are. Let me know if you do.

Remember to leave me your prayers in the post below.

Love from your priest,
Fr. Patrick

    Father Patrick!

    I would ask that you pray that we always strive …. Thank you so much and praying for you and your journey.

    Father Lord, make us a channel of your peace
    that where there is hatred, we always bring love;
    that where there is wrong,
    That we may bring the spirit of forgiveness;
    that where there is discord, we may bring harmony;
    that where there is error, we may bring truth;
    that where there is doubt, we may bring faith;
    that where there is despair, we may bring hope;
    that where there are shadows, we may bring light;
    that where there is sadness, we may bring joy.
    Lord, grant that we may seek rather to
    comfort than to be comforted;
    to understand, than to be understood;
    to love, than to be loved.
    For it is by self-forgetting that one finds.
    It is by forgiving that one is forgiven.
    It is by dying that one awakens to Eternal Life.

    This is a difficult one! Our Camino of life might be taking us away from Camarillo, away from California and away from Padre Serra! I am praying that Bernie and I may make the right decision for us and our future. Our lives have been so blessed and our family is so important as is how we live the last few decades (God willing)! May we follow Gods plan for us wherever it takes us!
    Amen
    God bless you and Jim on this Camino. God blessed my life by putting you both in it! Be safe and come home!

    Dear Fr Patrick,
    I pray for you and for your fellow pilgrims.

    Please pray with me for all those suffering and for their peace and comfort from suffering. May the kindness of God’s love soothe them by imploring kind actions in those who are yet unaware of their ability to love with such openness and fearlessness. Let us take care of one another through God’s abundant love for all. May I walk in His way. Amen.

    A Prayer from a Parishioner from St. Agatha
    Dear God, I present to you, my sister, Pat, who is in my heart, and this Is my prayer for her. Help her to live her life according to Your Will.
    May it be You who puts her in high places like the Eagles. May she spread love and sunshine in the dark places where it is difficult for others to reach. May she bring a word of love, healing, and liberation to others. Protect her. Keep away from any viruses, danger, pain, or disease. Lift her up when she feels weak and when she walks, let her feel your presence and the certainty that she will be safe in your Holy Hands in the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen
