Pisa — Sept 27

It’s a sweet pleasure to get off the plane. I’m safely in Pisa after 2 flights, with a layover in Frankfurt.

Everything was happily uneventful, except for flying over the Alps. We flew at a seemingly low altitude, and the Alps are magnificent from the air, with sharp, jagged, tiger-teeth, mountain peaks.

I walked from the airport to my hotel which is simple, and yet nice, though I haven’t figured out how to turn on the air conditioning. It won’t matter. I suspect I’ll sleep very well tonight.

I started praying for your special intentions in The Frankfurt airport, and continued at dinner

And best of all I had a great dinner. The eggplants (melanzane) was to die for.

I’m grateful to God for the alpine views, the safe arrival, and my first taste of Italy!

Off to a great start.

Your priest,
Fr. Patrick
