The WiFi is painfully slow, so it won’t let me add pictures, sorry.
I had a beautiful and exhausting day, climbing over the tall hills (small mountains?) separating Camaiore and Lucca. I had a last gaze at the sea, which I never visited but saw from the mountains.
I’m grateful for three things:
1. Fr Jim has landed safely and is on a train making his way here.
2. We are not walking tomorrow, just exploring the amazing walled town while Fr. Jim adjust to the time change.
3. I had lovely time for prayer
Psalm 24:3–6 Who may go up the mountain of the Lord?
Who can stand in his holy place?
“The clean of hand and pure of heart,
who has not given his soul to useless things,
what is vain. He will receive blessings from the Lord,
and justice from his saving God. Such is the generation that seeks him,
that seeks the face of the God of Jacob.”
I am not clean of hands and pure of heart yet, but I still hope for God’s blessings, and to see His face.
I’ve walked over 40,000 steps each day for 3 days and a little rest will be good. Our days shouldn’t be this long too often.
Thinking of you all and praying for you throughout the days,
Your priest,
Fr. Patrick
Dear Fr. Patrick,
Over 40K steps each day for 3 days in row sounds very exhausting! Good that you did your training ahead of time.
Good that you will have a less strenuous day tomorrow. Enjoy the sights! The whole of Italy is filled with fascinating and very old places.
Thank you for your prayers for our intentions. We appreciate you doing this for us and for our friends.
Blessings to you,
Bill
Incredible accomplishments.
We prayed for a holy pilgrimage for you.
We prayed for Fr. Jim’s safe arrival!
Chris
